TRYST OF BLUE SIGHT |
||
|
STORY Guy
begins his odyssey in the mysterious Appalachian Mountains in North
Carolina. There he meets AMOS, an African-American film teacher who shoots
the documentary on the impending reunion of Guy and his Blue people. Amos
himself has his own issues with his family. A natural aesthete, Amos has
difficulty accepting his physically retarded daughter. As Amos
‘unravels’ the truth about Guy, he unknowingly reveals his own trauma.
By the light of the moon, Guy meets a 200-year-old man (as rumor has it)
who knows of the Blue people. The old man shows Guy a woodcarving that
might reveal their secret migration, but the path to truth may not be seen
with the eye. SIGHT
will be shot on digital video in the style of a “mock-documentary.” In
keeping with the story, the Professor’s lessons on the theories of
intellectual montage and film editing will be on display through out this
section. Jump cuts and very short inserts of differing images into a scene
will create added meanings. Example: A) shot on man screaming and pounding
his fists. B) the back side of a donkey C) cut back to man. The idea is
formed is that the man is an ass! |
