STORY
After
being deposited in a small town in Japan, Guy meets MIKO. He instantly
falls in love, so much so that he is willing to abandon his quest so that
he can spend his life with her. Her ex-boyfriend waits for her to have
their baby as Guy settles in. She delivers but leaves Guy and her ex. Guy
journeys on having known love for the first time, the way certain scents
bring back such pungent memories. Love is a sweet, wafting fragrance but
when the breeze changes, it’s gone.
SCENT
is told in fleeting flashbacks and flashforwards; completely out of order.
Each movement in time is triggered by a character’s recognition of a
particular scent that takes them to a different scene. The flexibility of
time will also be able to show scenes in the distant past and the distant future. By
the end all the strands of the story come together and are realized.
