“I am not born for one corner; the whole world
is my native land.”
–Seneca
(the Younger)
Invigorating,
tantalizing, thought-provoking cinema need not be expensive, formulaic or
inaccessible. A film shot in such dissimilar locations will be sure to
draw attention to its unique diversity, but with the thrifty handling of
this reactive script, the odds of a financially successful picture are
very strong. In this proposal, we wish to show in three ways why raising
the 2 million dollars necessary to make this film is worthwhile both
financially and artistically.
1)
Keeping the budget low is not as difficult as it might seem for a film
shot in five countries. By hiring the cast and crew locally in each of the
five locations coupled with the US Dollar being very strong in these countries, the cost will be less than if we were to shoot in the U.S.
2)
The distribution of the film will be handled just as inventively. The
international scope of this film lends itself to an enthusiastic response
from members of these proud countries and their nationals living abroad.
3)
Creative cinematic techniques and previously untold stories appeal to
those who enjoy an alternative to the Hollywood blockbuster. By exploring
the five senses through the different international societies, the viewer
can enjoy the interpretation of sensations we all share.
