PRESTON
MILLER (writer ,director,
GUY the Blue
Man) over the last decade has
written and directed a number of short films and videos in which he has
and acted. Most notably, “THE MOLE” and “DISHWASHING DETECTIVE”
which showed in festivals in New York and North Carolina. Most recently he
can be seen in “GODASS,” a film by Esther Bell that won the
“Audience Choice Award” in the New York Underground Festival, has also
screened in the Philadelphia Underground Film Festival and the San
Francisco Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. In addition, he has performed
nationally with several improvisational comedy troupes. He still enjoys
participating in improvisation theater occasionally. He has also just completed his first feature film, "JONES" and is in pre-pre-production on "GOD'S LAND." He is also working on his new script "HEADING HOME", a fictional account of the life of civilian worker in Iraq and his grisly doom.
SOUMITRA
CHATTERJEE (GAN)
came into fame as a leading Bengali actor as a
young man when he was cast in the title role in Satyajit Ray’s “APUR
SANSAR” (The World of Apu), the final chapter of the celebrated Apu
Trilogy. Since the late 50’s, Chatterjee has been in the forefront of
Bengali cinema, theater and tele-dramas. He is also known as a very
talented poet that performs year-round across India. Other internationally
famous films of his include “CHARULATA,” “HOME AND THE WORLD” and
“ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE,” a Bengali reworking of the Ibsen play. He also
translates and directs Western works for the Bengali stage, one of his
most popular being a version of “SLUTH.”
His
expertise in Bengali, English and the poetry from each will make the
performance of Guru Gan that much more profound. THE FOLLOWING ACTRESSES ARE IN TALKS TO PERFORM IN THIS FILM:
MARIA
CONCHITA ALONSO (LOLA MANTON)
is as well-respected in American
cinema for her talent as she is for her beauty. Most recently she
performed to rave reviews in Robert M. Young’s “CAUGHT” but has also
been seen in such prominent films such as “MOSCOW ON THE HUDSON,”
“HOUSE OF SPIRITS,” “COLORS” and “THE RUNNING MAN.” As well as
having her own television show and doing extensive work in that medium,
she is a highly sought after model. Her thriving musical career that has
produced several albums crested with a run on Broadway in “KISS OF THE
SPIDER WOMAN.” The alternating aspects of natural ease and feistiness in her screen personality will make Lola a very intriguing character to watch.
YOUKI KUDOH (MIKO WATANABE) is a very popular personality in her native Japan as well as around the world. She is not only respected as a leading actress but also a musician and a model. On these shores she is best known from her vivacious roles in Jim Jarmusch’s “MYSTERY TRAIN”, as well as “THE PICTURE BRIDE” and most recently “SNOW FALLING ON THE CEDARS.” She has also been seen with Russell Crowe in “HEAVEN’S BURNING”. Her enthusiasm on the screen and her willingness to expand her characters will insure that this very important role will be handled perfectly.
